Why I will not vote for Obama even if he’s the nominee — and why you shouldn’t either

A call to arms from Violet Socks. It’s incredible. Apostate agrees though she can’t vote: Fuck Unity. Here are a few comments at Tom Watson’s. Hundreds more here.

Oh please, Clinton on top or nothing. She is older and more experience. Why should she have to wait until she is an old woman when she has the most experience of the two now. I will not get behind Obama, ever! Just another man with less experience getting paid more than a woman. No, not now, not ever.

From the beginning, this was one of the most sexist things about the Obama campaign. Think of it as a competition for CEO. A younger, less experienced, but charismatic man gets the job over an experienced “woman of substance” with 14 years of seniority. It doesn’t get more sexist than this. Or Chris Klein and Tracy Flick, if you will.

I thought I could vote for Obama in the GE. Now I know that I can’t. I won’t vote for McCain. But I will sit out the Pres. race (or write in Hillary’s name). And there is no way that Obama can win the GE. Indeed, I suspect he will lose by historic proportions.

The Obama campaign machine has behaved appalingly and has gone against all Democratic principles I believed in. I could only support him if I am bereft of any principles or values. Thankfully I have still retained my values though us Clinton supporters have been subjected to horrendeous behaviour. Obama campaign have behaved like republicans using republican talking points to denigrate Hillary and Bill Clinton. And if Obama wins the nomination it would be another theft (not counting FL & MI is Stealing however DB may put it) like Bush’s in 2000.

I saw this comment on the LA Times blog:

I will not be voting in the general, if Hillary doesn’t get the nomination. The contest has been too ugly in terms of sexism. I suspect the horse accident was rigged by the Dems’ good ol’ boys.

  1. I still plan to vote for Obama if Clinton doesn’t get the nomination.

  2. Women may have to examine the sexism that will be directed at women and reproductive rights. If McCain is elected, then he will end Roe v. Wade. If Obama is elected, how is he going to get a pro-choice nominee on the Supreme Court? Does he have the ability to suddenly convince Republicans that “It is her uterus, stupid.”

I am furious about the way Hillary has been treated and I am deeply concerned about the future of reproductive choice.

  3. I’m behind Hillary one hundred percent! I think she has been treated unfairly and denying the Florida and Michigan votes and delegates is wrong and completely one-sided. Obama has mostly won delegates through caucuses and please…caucuses are not a true representation of the voters out there. Nebraska, for example, had it’s first ever caucus in February…being a NE Democrat I heard nothing about it (and I’m on the party’s mailing list) so I didn’t get the time off from work to go to the caucus. The primary is always in May…and you have 12 hours to go and vote…how is a caucus where you have to be there within a small window…of about 10 minutes or so an equal representation of voters. Democrats are working people for the most part…and those that support Hillary were WORKING during the caucus hours. I think Hillary would certainly have won the primary in Nebraska…but now since everyone here knows it doesn’t matter in the primary on May 13th…most aren’t going out to vote….but I am!!!!

I will NOT vote for Obama…I will write in Hillary or egad…vote off party for the first time EVER (and I’m over 40 and college educated) I’d sooner vote for McCain…as this country can’t afford to have Obama as president.

Keep fighting for those Florida and Michigan delegates Hillary.

    Sissy

  4. I am a strong democrat who carefully chose my candidate, Hillary Clinton, based on looking at the facts. She is the most qualified person for the job. I will not vote for Obama. I will write in Hillary. I would rather see McCain as president than to accept the message the male chauvenists in the democratic party have sent to me. They have made it loud and clear that no matter how intelligent, capable, competent or qualified to do a job, a woman is a second class citizen and should be denied opportunities. I can tolerate 4 more years of a republican, but I won’t tolerate a party who clearly hates women and wants to set us back decades! If Obama lost, people could scream racism all they want. It would not change the fact that he is less experienced and has nothing of substance as a candidate. For Hillary to be pushed out the way she has, there is no other explanation than that she is a woman. Even men I know who back Obama admit she is more qualified, but think she will lose in November. When asked why, they don’t have an answer and they will repeat, “I didn’t say she isn’t the most qualified, she just can’t win.” Look at the facts! I will not be treated as a second class citizen and neither should any woman. Do not vote for Obama in the Fall! He would definitely take this country in the wrong direction! This isn’t too far away from woman not being allowed to vote. Michigan and Florida know what I’m talking about. Do we really want to go back there?

  5. I too will vote for McCain if Hillary is not the nominee. It will be the 1st time in my life I have voted repoblican. I would not vote for Obama if he were the last man standing. It is dispicable how Hillary is being treated by the DNC. She should run as an Independent or as McCain’s running mate. The hell with party loyalty. Why should the Clintons ever be loyal to that party again. Where Hillary goes, I go. Unless she is on Obamas ticket. Then I still won’t vote for him.

  6. Don’t vote against Obama. Vote FOR/write-in the true Democrat, Hillary!
