Clinton picks up two new superdelegates, and other news

…and is an Edwards endorsement “imminent“????  Nothing like spreading rumors like wildfire!!

Anti-war Rep. John Murtha (D-PA, Pittsburgh) endorses Clinton today, highlighting her ability to build “consensus” around the major issues facing the country.  Hats off to the theme appropriation by a tried-and-true anti-war pol.

WV superdelegate Pat Maroney endorses Clinton.  She is the third of 10 WV superdelegates to support HRC.  (2 others have gone for Obama, and 5 are uncommitted.)

These are Clinton’s first post-Ohio endorsements, announced on the same day that Obama has stolen the spotlight - for better or worse - with his speech in Philadelphia. (Folks see his failure to address Wright’s sexism as a big ole’ gaping hole.  Discuss.)  A Gallup poll also shows Clinton leading nationally (though others don’t), and she is way up in PA, having gained more ground in the last couple days.  See the usual suspects (Riverdaughter, Talk Left and MyDD) for the details.

Also, if you’re not at least scanning daily the headlines over at Talk Left re: the MI/FL re-votes (FL ruled out, MI less and less likely), you’re missing out on some serious, outrageous b.s. re: seating these delegates.

Finally, again thanks to Talk Left, who got it from Taylor Marsh (who heard it from Ferris’s sister’s ex-boyfriend’s cousin last night at Baskin Robbins), here is a speech by Bill Clinton on the Million Man March in ‘95.  I haven’t read it, but TL commenters seemed to like it, in keeping with the spirit (or in contrast to, for some) of the day.  Personally, Hillary Rodham Clinton’s “women’s rights are human rights…” gets me every time.
